MONUMENTAL ORGAN AND CONCERTS

The Monumental Organ of St. Mary of the Angels and Martyrs (a work by Barthélémy Formentelli, 1992) is a gift from the Romans to Pope St. John Paul II in memory of the Great Jubilee of 2000. Equipped with seventy-seven real stops and three accessories, totaling approximately 5,400 pipes distributed across four keyboards and a pedalboard, with entirely mechanical transmissions for the keys and stops, this instrument is the largest French Baroque-style organ in Italy. This magnificent organ regularly enriches the liturgy of the Basilica during Sunday Masses and all other festive days.
